The problem is, however, that most store-bought varieties that claim to be low in fat or sugar are loaded with additives, chemicals, preservatives, and unnatural flavoring. At Amandean we've got some great snack-bar recipes that give you an all-natural variety of your favorite craving with a source of protein that keeps you feeling fuller for longer.
Let's get started in preparing our Healing Collagen Breakfast Bars with Cinnamon & Raisins. These bars are Paleo-friendly and nut-free.
1 cup plump raisins
3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
1/2 cup sweet potato flour
6 tablespoons Amandean Collagen Peptides
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 tablespoon water
1. In a food processor or mixer, combine raisins, coconut, sweet potato flour, collagen powder, cinnamon and sea salt until a fine and moist crumble forms.
2. Add in coconut oil and process for 1 to 2 minutes until you achieve a dense mixture that sticks together. Add in water and process to help smooth the ingredients.
3. Press mixture evenly into a 4"x 6" parchment-lined or non-stick glass dish.
4. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until solidified. Slice into squares using a sharp knife. Best stored and served from refrigerator.
