Although I did recognize and feel the beneficial effects of taking fish oil for around thirty years, in my sixties I shifted to a meat and dairy free diet but still took fish oil. After doing some reading I switched to Amandean algae oil around four years ago. I have felt the same health benefits from taking algae oil for the last four years that I felt taking fish oil. My yearly blood work seems to back up that feeling. Also, as you may know, it is widely reported that the overfishing of certain species of fishes is due in large part to satisfy the worldwide demand for fish oil. That was another incentive for me to make the switch. Plus I like the fact it is available on more than just the company's website for purchasing flexibility reasons.
