If you haven’t heard it yet, the Hummus Shake is the big next thing. Really?! You may ask? Yes. Considering people are now adding chickpea cream to their brownies and cakes recipes, we're telling you it's true. Hummus for starters is a great source of protein (7.9 g per serving), which is good news since protein is essential for muscle growth, recovery, as well as healthy immune functions. Chickpeas are also high in dietary fiber. A single serving contains 24% of the daily fibre recommendation for women and 16% for men. And in case you were wondering, dietary fiber is responsible for keeping you regular and suppressing the bad bacteria of your gut microbiome.
Furthermore, hummus, made from chickpeas, is known to have a low glycemic index, helping to provide balanced blood sugar levels. Some studies demonstrate how hummus can actually facilitate in weight loss efforts by increasing the feeling of satiety after consuming it. Want another? Well, hummus is often an ideal food for people suffering from food allergies, because it won’t induce allergic reactions. Hummus is in fact gluten, nut, and dairy-free. That being said, it's better if those with irritable bowel syndrome don’t over-indulge in it, since chickpeas contain FODMAPs.
So, now that you're familiar with some of the magic in hummus, you can see why a Hummus Shake is a must-try, right? If you’re not convinced yet, let us seal the deal by telling you that this recipe will be your protein-rich smoothie of choice because we're adding a scoop of Anti-Aging Marine Collagen!
Why add Marine Collagen?
First of all, collagen makes up for 80% of your skin, which means that by taking a daily all-natural Marine Collagen supplement, you can significantly improve the elasticity and flexibility in your skin as you age.
Fish collagen is rich in type 1 & 3 collagen, specifically sourced from wild-caught cod in the pristine waters of the North Atlantic. Marine collagen will help to keep your bones, tendons, and joints healthy, while also supporting flexibility and lean muscle growth. As well, you'll recover faster after physical activity and restore the nutrients depleted during exercise.
Amandean’s bioavailable source of marine collagen contains 18 amino acids, 2 of which are Glycine and Proline. Glycine promotes healthy gut repair and function, as well as a more restful sleep. Proline helps to tighten skin, repair connective tissue, and supports healthy arterial function.
