    • CBD-Infused Guacamole Recipe: Prep Time: 10 minutes; 4 servings

If you’re a fan of Mexican cuisine (let’s be real, who’s not?), guacamole is probably a regular dish on your table. Whether you like your guac as a taco dressing, or you prefer it as a dip for your tortilla chips on a movie night, it seems to get better with every bite! And if you know your guacamole, we’re pretty sure you can spot the difference between the homemade stuff and the one from the store even with a blindfold on. Besides the obvious difference in taste, the quality of homemade and processed guac, just like with any other food, is incomparable.

Making your own guac from scratch may seem like a lot of work, and when in a rush, you may opt for the faster alternative. However, you may want to give this a second thought. Considering that most processed variations are loaded with sugar, artificial aromas, and coloring, it might be worth the extra time.

On the other hand, making your own guac at home means you’ll be eating fresh food, carefully chosen (preferably organic) ingredients, and you’ll be able to customize your dish however you’d like. Today we’re talking about homemade CBD-infused guacamole, which is something you probably haven’t had the opportunity to try. Have you? How does CBD fit in with avocado, onion, jalapeno, and collagen protein? Let’s find out.

    Why Add CBD?

Cannabidiol, better known simply as CBD, is a derivative of the cannabis plant, just like THC - hence the possible confusion. It is the mutual source of CBD and THC that is the sole reason behind all the stigma surrounding CBD. Even though they do come from the same plant, their effects are diametrically different. While they do share some health benefits, the main difference between the two lies in the fact that CBD is not considered a psychoactive substance (whereas the counterpart certainly is).

CBD has been known for its pain-relieving effect, especially when it comes to managing chronic aches or pain. The way CBD can affect pain is by managing the receptor activity of certain neurotransmitters and easing the inflammation. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that CBD targets pain at its very root, bringing fast, yet long-lasting relief.

Aside from pain management, the use of CBD supplementation has also been associated with positive changes when it comes to mental health. CBD has been recognized as a potent natural alternative to pharmaceutical drugs when it comes to this sensitive area of health. While no changes in therapy should be made without consulting with a professional, adding CBD to your daily nutrition could bring improvement when it comes to issues such as anxiety, insomnia, and fluctuating mood.

What exactly causes skin issues such as acne? While there seems to be no universal answer, inflammation is certainly among the most prominent factors. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD has been shown to inhibit the inflammatory process and reduce excess sebum production. Aside from managing inflammation once it occurs, CBD also appears to limit the production of inflammatory cytokines, lowering the chance of inflammation development.

Smoking is one of the underlying causes of numerous health issues, being that it destroys healthy cells. However, this habit is certainly not easy to kick, especially if you’ve been dependent on nicotine for a long time. According to a study conducted by C. A. Morgan and colleagues, CBD may reduce nicotine cravings during your withdrawal period, while also easing any related anxiety symptoms.

Combining CBD with other health supplements can be proactive, especially if they have mutual benefits. CBD and Collagen Peptides Powder are two compatible supplements with multiple anti-aging benefits, especially when we’re talking about our skin. By taking CBD and collagen daily, whether it be in your bulletproof coffee or a delicious meal, you’re getting the best of both worlds and compounding their benefits. What’s more, by adding collagen powder, you’re also getting a much-needed kick of protein - ‘cause we all know the struggle of reaching that daily protein target (especially if you’re on a plant-based diet!).
